STC Rebates (Australia-wide hot water rebate)
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are an environmental type of currency issued after the installation of water heating, solar power, and any other renewable energy technology that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Claiming STC Hot Water Rebates (STC Rebate Trading Companies):
There are several STC trading companies that you can compare pricing through. Hot water rebate pricing may vary between companies. Once you have selected an STC trading company to claim government rebates through, simply follow the process outlined on their website. This usually involves downloading the hot water rebate forms and completing them with a plumbing installation certificate. We have listed some STC rebate trader companies below for your convenience.

VEEC Rebates (Victoria Only)
Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) are part of the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, which encourages households to reduce carbon emissions by upgrading to energy-efficient appliances. When replacing an existing electric or gas hot water system with a STIEBEL ELTRON SHP-O heat pump, you may be eligible to claim VEEC rebates through an accredited provider.

VEEC values may vary depending on your postcode and installation conditions. Your installer or certificate provider can assist with eligibility and paperwork for claiming VEEC rebates.
Energy Savings Certificates (NSW Only)
Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) represent the energy saved from completing a compliant energy-saving activity in New South Wales. Accredited Certificate Providers (ACPs) can create and trade ESCs on the certificate market.
ESCs are available when a STIEBEL ELTRON WWK or SHP-O domestic hot water heat pump replaces:
- an existing electric storage tank or electric instantaneous water heater (D17), or
- an existing gas storage tank or gas instantaneous water heater (D19)
To claim ESCs, your installer must work with an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP) who manages the creation and trading of certificates. Most installers will coordinate this for you, but it’s important to confirm they are partnered with a registered ACP under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme.
